About

About me
I’m a mixed media artist and printmaker, working with fused glass, print, collage, and stitch. My creative path began with a degree in printmaking and has taken me through freelance illustration, tutoring, and over twenty years in education as a teacher and university lecturer. A recent move from Gloucestershire to South Yorkshire brought me back to the studio full-time – the bird in my logo symbolises both this new freedom and my “flight north.”
Creativity has always been at the centre of my life, not only developing my own work but also supporting others in theirs. I’m passionate about the handmade, and many of my closest friends are makers too. For years I’ve hosted my annual Artisan open house exhibition to share their work alongside mine, and I hope to bring this tradition to West Yorkshire, once our house renovations are finished!
Making by hand runs through everything I do, from my early collagraph prints to glass fusing (which I like to think of as “glass collage”). I’m currently reconnecting with printmaking - sometimes in its pure form, sometimes woven into my mixed media pieces. Nature has always my biggest source of inspiration, whether it’s through time spent walking, gardening, or simply noticing the details around me.
Alongside creating my own work, I love sharing what I’ve learned through workshops and one-to-one coaching. Most recently I’ve been invited to run some workshops at Hot Bed Press in Salford, as well as working with individuals to help them explore and grow their own creative voice.
